When your vehicle is all repaired and ready to roll, how do you know if the repair was done right? Charlie's Columbia CARSTAR offers you these simple steps you should take to fully review whatever has been repaired on your car and ensure that all of the parts are operating like they should be.

1.    For this detailed and comprehensive process, we suggest that you allow a minimum of thirty minutes to complete the process.

2.    The first step of the checking process is to ask to review the vehicle with the one who wrote the estimate for you or with the one that delivers the repair to the customer.

3.    Be prepared to ask questions to the person that you inspect the vehicle with and don’t be afraid to use up all the time that you find necessary to review the repairs that were done.

4.    A copy of the original estimate should be taken with you to compare against the final bill.

5.    While reviewing the final bill, make sure that the repairer explains it to you. The final bill should be very comprehensive. They should walk around the vehicle with you and point out each item covered on the final bill.

6.    Get a good warranty for the repairs and be sure to understand the ins and outs of the warranty, like where the warranty is good at and what the restrictions are.

7.    If it's raining ask to inspect the car inside. If the car or truck is wet, clear off the liquid to see the paint.

8.    All new parts should be installed where feasible.

9.    Check the paint to ensure that everything matches perfectly (color, darker, lighter).

10.    Inspect gaps around the doors, trunk lid, and hood.  Gaps should all be uniform.

11.    Open all of the doors, trunk, and hood and inspect for any polish or rubbing compound.

12.    Check the mileage, but keep in mind that many repairs necessitate test drives. As such, there
may be a few extra miles on it.

13.    Check for any major changes in the fuel level of your vehicle.

14.    If your car or truck was in need of an alignment, get a copy of the before and after printout in factory specification tolerances.

15.    Also, if your vehicle had any sort of structural damage, get a copy of the before and after printout in factory specification tolerances.

16.    Be sure that the car radio works.

17.    Turn on the air conditioning and heating blower fan. Remember to be careful as debris may come out of vents.

18.    Inspect dash warning lights to make sure that none are on.

19.    If the vehicle external lights needed to be replaced, check to make sure that they are fully functional.

20.    Tell the tow truck operator to take it to Charlie's Columbia CARSTAR because ‘Relax We’ll Take It from Here’.
